New Projects... and Old Projects

I have taken on yet another wedding project.  Maybe I should say that I'm attempting another wedding project.  This time it is ties for the men.  It took me weeks to find the perfect shade of turquoise for the bridesmaids sashes.  I finally found it in a bolt of satin fabric.  So, I got a swatch from Hobby Lobby to put up against Destinee's dress to make sure it looks good.  It was EXACTLY how I imagined it.  It's an easy peasy project.  YAY!  Then I was sitting at work and got to thinking, I've got a men's tie pattern at home.  I should make the ties so they will match perfectly (this is my OCD issue talking of course- everything must MATCH).  So, I headed to Hobby Lobby to buy enough material to make a "trial" tie.  Turns out, I can make the ties for a little over $3 a piece.  Katie assisted me in my tie fabric cutting, so now they just have to be pinned and sewn.  I will be sooooo happy if this actually works.

The Save the Dates have been sent to the printer.  I recieved my proof tonight.  We need to make a few minor adjustments to it and then they will print them!!!  I can't wait to get them in the mail.

We are having our first shower in December.  It's a Christmas one!!!  I can't wait!  I scanned the invitation and removed any revealing information, but here's what it looks like:
I think that is all the updating for today.  It's been a fun wedding week.  I'm getting more and more excited every day.  I've got a countdown on my calendar at work.  I love going in each morning and pulling down the prior days number.  :)

Registering

We conquered another massive challenge today with registering.  I had done a bit of "pre-registering" a few days ago so Matt could research some stuff.  I think we spent 4 hours at both Target and Bed, Bath and Beyond today.  We agreed on most things, which kinda surprised me.  I expected more debates since he likes "modern" and I apparently (or at least according to him) like classic.  Honestly, I like a cozy feel.  I want people to come over and feel comfortable.  We went with a lake theme throughout.  We figured it made sense since the house is ON the lake.  : )  We didn't finish by any means and plan on eventually registering on amazon.com.  I'm just loving getting things done and it feeling like its closer.  I also like to check things off my to-do list.

217 days and counting... :)

It's Real Life...

Everyone has told me that the moment they felt like they were really getting married was when they tried on their wedding dress.  I had a small realization then, but it actually hit me tonight.  I went to Michael's Craft Store on my lunch and found these great wedding programs.  I didn't want to do any purchasing till I had thought it through.  (It's not like that was my first time looking at them or anything.)  The question really came down to "Is this what I REALLY wanted to use that beloved 50% off coupon on???"  Those coupons are just so rare and I just like them... a lot... to buy my bigger scrapbooking items. : )  BUT... we are both sacrificing some things, so I opted to sacrifice my beloved coupon for the sake of the wedding.  haha... Actually, I'm pretty excited about them.  It's well worth the sacrifice because they are going to look so, so, so good!  The only thing is I've run into a few little problems or hurdles.  1) They only had 5 boxes w/ 40 programs in each box.  2) I only had 2 of those 50% off coupons.  So, I tried to buy the two boxes, but the nice lady at Michael's told me that I could only use one coupon per day.  I was a little not happy about this as that coupon expires on Wednesday.  So, she told me to leave come back and go to a different cashier.  Problem solved.  Now, we still have the whole problem of finding more programs.  I was told that they have not been discontinued, but a new set has not been ordered.  So, just to be on the safe side, they gave me a rain check.
So, there I was sitting in the car outside of a friend's house.  I opened one of those boxes of programs and it hit me.  I had my "moment" of "this IS real life" over a box of wedding programs.  Boy, am I excited now!!!

Whoo hoo!!!!

I needed to take a post to brag on our SWAT sponsors.  Yesterday during Hanging of the Green boot camp, several sponsors assisted me in making boxes.  We were able to complete probably around 30 boxes.  Then tonight (during choir), several more assisted me!  I went from having about 150 done to 225!!!  They were such amazing help!  I'm so far ahead in my scheduled amounts its exciting!  If I weren't so tired from this weekend, I'd dance!
