My Dress is Here!!!

I was so excited last Saturday to find out that my dress had finally come in!  Today I got to go by and try it on.  It was so exciting to know it was MY dress and NO one else would be putting it on.  It only needs a couple of minor alterations.  I made my next appointment to meet with the alterations lady for the end of February.  Whoo hoo!!!
After that, mom & I headed to the rental place where we picked out some super cool metal trees.  I realize that sounds really strange, but they are black with votives hanging from the leaves.  There will also be some super cool prisms hanging too.  Very classy.
I ended up at the parentals house due to the brake lights on my car going out, so we made lemonade out of that lemon and got to ordering some other items.  I found some awesome Kate Spade toasting flutes that I really wanted as well as some napkins and the cake serving/cutting tools.  The Kate Spade toasting flutes were my splurge item.  I really wanted them.  They were pricey, but I found a discount coupon in my email for theknot.com, so my pricey item ended up being EXTREMELY discounted.  Making me feel less guilty about ordering it and making daddy feel better about spending the money. hehe...  I think we may have to make him watch Father of the Bride yet... :)
It was an exciting day.  I'm still ready to jump to June, but we've still got several things going on before then.  It'll be here soon enough.  (I just keep telling myself that.)

Wedding Update!!!

I just celebrated my LAST single birthday! Whoo hoo!!! We have been busy, busy bees around here this week.  Of course, I had my first wedding nightmare (probably not the last either) this week.  I dreamt that it was our wedding day and they forgot to tell me that my dress had come in.  Well, they apparently had ordered the wrong dress it was above my knee, covered in lace, with the big, poofy, lacey sleeves.  Then they had to give me shoes (cause my amaizng ones looked TERRIBLE with it) and they were two different white, flat, pointed toed shoes.  They were UGLY!  I woke up SO glad it was a dream!  I did however feel the need to call Madison Town & Country just to make sure they hadn't forgotten to call me.  It was a busy week, so I never actually got around to it.  However, they did call me this morning and my dress is IN!!!  So, next weekend when I am planning on being on that end of town, I will go verify that it is my dress.  :)  I can't wait to see it!!!
I met with another florist this week.  Mom and I were both much more comfortable with her.  She seemed pretty flexible, but had that creative flair that I liked.  I am pretty sure we'll go with them.  It's exciting to have something else in place.
We are having to change our cake design.  Destinee unknowingly chose one VERY close to the one we picked, so it's back to the drawing board.  I've found one I like.  It's pretty classy, so we'll see.
Lastly, I began creating the door wreaths for the wedding.  I've got one done and it looks AMAZING.  For more information see my craft blog: http://chicinspirations.blogspot.com/
5 1/2 months till the big day!  I'm so excited I can hardly contain myself!

I'm BACK!

Ok, well, it's January, so it's back to wedding planning!!!  I can't say I took a real break from it, but I just didn't pour a lot of time in it.  Now that we are less than six months away, I've got to get moving.  I'm hoping to meet with another florist this coming week.  This flower thing isn't my forte that's for sure.  I know what I want my bouquet to look like and that is about it.
I've cut back on numbers.  There really is no real way to tell how many people will really be in attendance.  The RSVP's will help get an idea, but since it will be in the bulletin at church, it'll be a guess.  We were originally planning on 500, but I've decided to go with under 400.  I think that since it's summer a lot of people will be gone.  I'm just doing what I can to cut the costs.
June will be here before we know it.  If I could skip ahead, I would.  Honestly, we are both really ready for some normalcy and a real schedule.

I hope everyone had a Happy New Year!
