Well, obviously I missed a few days. Today I didn't place a day # as the date is in question again. We've gone back and forth all weekend about it. Hopefully, we can announce soon when it will be. Time is ticking you know...
I wrote my first thank you card tonight. It was kinda cool to write it on a thank you note I had made. If I could just get all of those made, my life would be a little easier...
I'm trying to get organized. I'm starting to get way overwhelmed and that is the point where I just give up. Thankfully, I have people who can talk me off that ledge. I've got a semi-plan and a lot more figured out than I even realized. It took talking to that person to realize that its not all as out of control as it seemed. I just need everything in a central location. It was suggested that I make a notebook with ideas and vendor information. The plan is to keep it smaller than the big one I already have. I need something I can stick in my purse, er... tote bag so I can work on it during lunch breaks, etc.
So, I'm off to get organized and get more ideas and then organize those ideas... haha...

Day 7- FIRST ORDER!!!
I placed my first wedding related order today! Whoo hoo!!! I'm making all the favor boxes, so I figured it would be a wise idea to get a jump start and get working on them. The thing is my friends don't realize they are going to have to help make them too. Shh... it'll be our little secret. hehe... :) It's actually going to be a fun task. The box being made is meaningful to me and Matt, so I think that makes it even better. I ordered the matchbox die cut, scallop punch and the circle punch for this project. I have a friend who has the die cut machine and is willing to let me borrow it for a little while and has even offered to help make the boxes. I'm so excited!

Day 6- First Gift/ Making Thank You Notes
I should have mentioned this in Sunday's post- We got our first gift on Sunday. A sweet woman who sings in the Soprano section with me gave us a bit of gag gift. It's a little jar that says "Wedding Fund". I'm not sure much money is going to make it into that jar. haha... It may need to be used as a "Blessings Jar".
Since we got our first gift, I needed to start thinking about thank you notes. The "Do It Yourself" side of me said, "How hard could it be? If I start now, I can get a lot done by the time we actually need most of them." Novel idea. So, I headed off to Hobby Lobby on my lunch break. The cards were on sale 40% off. I bought turquoise colored cards and white envelopes. I plan on accenting the cards with black so they match our wedding colors. I had planned on making 12 tonight, but only got 7 done. I had to step away to get re-inspired. Maybe I'll get another 5 done tomorrow night...

Day 5- Logistics
Ok, so I have NEVER been a big fan of logistics, but today is the ultimate I HATE logistics day. haha... There is so much riding on the actual choice of date, that I am stuck. I can't really do much until I know what it is. We had kinda chosen one, at least had a general idea, but have found out that there is this and that going on. Now we have to wait and see if they can move the activities. I probably wouldn't be stressing so much about it except that I don't want to lose my photographer. Her schedule is filling up quickly. Everything else is less of a rush... Sigh... Logistics get easier right??? ; )

Day 4- Overwhelmed...
I may have hit my first brick wall. I know it won't be my last either. haha... I have so many ideas, but have no idea where to go with them or what to do with them, that I have pretty much overwhelmed myself. I had planned on coming home today and starting to look through the pile of magazines on the coffee table, but still haven't touched them. Anyone who knows me, knows that I don't handle being overwhelmed very well at all. I basically shut down. Therefore, the magazines sit... (Allergies aren't helping with this either, but that is besides the point.) So, maybe tomorrow I will have the clarity of mind and will be able to begin looking one page at a time... and maybe I should start taking notes... hmm... there's an idea. : )

Day 3- The Hunt for a Dress Begins...
I was informed this morning by a friend that there was a wedding dress event going on at the Embassy Suites. The whole thing was to benefit breast cancer research. All the dresses were deeply discounted as well. I figured it didn't hurt to check them out. So, I grabbed Katie and we went to check it out. They had several dresses, but had very few in a solid white color. There were lots of cream colored ones. It was a little disappointing especially since there weren't even any I like enough to try on. We decided we were in the mood to continue on the search so off we went to David's Bridal. We found a couple dresses I liked, but since I didn't have an appt. they wouldn't let me even try one on. Sigh. We did however find a possible bridesmaids and flower girl dress. I'm going to wait till I head out to Something Blue in Hartselle to try anything on though. Looking for a dress has made this all seem a little more real...
Thanks Katie for going on the adventure with me today!

Day 2- Scattered
Well, today was actually spent working on stuff for the new house. In 2 weeks, that should slow down as all the decisions have to be made by then. We spent the afternoon discussing and planning where everything from furniture to electrical sockets should go. I'm not sure we left any detail unturned.
Anyway, we FINALLY got to discussing a few wedding things. We can't keep thinking its a long way off, as some things just need to be reserved ASAP. Things seem to fill up quickly in the summer. The discussion of what all needs to be reserved made us realize that we will need a pretty close ballpark figure for how many would attend the wedding and reception. We know where the ceremony will be, but have yet to nail down the reception spot. As fun as the planning will be, it'll be nice to have some things nailed down so I don't feel so scattered. We can't do anything till we pick a date though. Hopefully, we'll have at least that picked this week.

Day 1- Let the Planning Begin
I thought this would be a fun way for family members to keep up with what all is going on with wedding plans. My goal is to post a picture everyday of something wedding related, but I also know that sometimes life just happens and I don't always quite get it done. :) And anyone who knows us, knows that life seems to happen to us A LOT! :) So, I'll do my best!
I am now armed with my cork board and several wedding magazines. So... LET THE PLANNING BEGIN!
